Mahindra Scorpio-N Z8T Diesel MT 2025: Price Cut and Feature Upgrades

Mahindra has introduced the Scorpio-N Z8T Diesel MT 2025, a refreshed variant in its popular SUV lineup, bringing new features at a lower price compared to the earlier Z8L trim. Despite being positioned as a “new” model, the Z8T is essentially a renamed and upgraded version of the previous top-end manual diesel variant.

Price and Positioning

The Scorpio-N Z8T Diesel MT 2025 is priced at ₹20.69 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 2WD manual diesel variant. This marks a ₹9,000 price reduction compared to the earlier Z8L model, while adding additional convenience features.

Key Feature Upgrades in Scorpio-N Z8T

Mahindra has introduced notable enhancements to the Z8T variant, including:

  • Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold – Now available even on the manual transmission model.
  • 65W USB Type-C Charging Port in the second row – Powerful enough to charge laptops.

Other premium features from the Z8L continue in the Z8T:

  • LED projector headlamps (low beam), LED reflector high beam, sequential LED turn indicators, LED fog lamps, and LED DRLs.
  • Dual front parking sensors, rear parking sensors, and front/rear cameras (no 360° camera system).
  • Diamond-cut 18-inch alloy wheels with Apollo 255/60 R18 tyres.

The Scorpio-N Z8T retains its robust body-on-frame construction and imposing road presence.

The seven-seater SUV offers:

  • Adjustable headrests in all rows.
  • Foldable and tumble second and third-row seats for increased cargo space.
  • Rear AC vents with blower control.
  • Multiple storage compartments and bottle holders.

While the third row is best suited for children, it includes LED cabin lighting and a 12V power outlet.

Powertrain

The Z8T continues with Mahindra’s proven 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission in this variant.

  • Power & Torque: Comparable to the outgoing Z8L diesel MT.
  • Claimed Mileage: Around 15–16 km/l.
  • Available in 2WD; 4WD options offered in other trims.

Market Context of Scorpio-N Z8T

The launch of the Z8T reflects Mahindra’s strategy to refresh the Scorpio-N lineup by renaming variants and adding targeted upgrades without significant mechanical changes. The price drop coupled with feature additions strengthens its value proposition in the competitive premium SUV segment.
